Psychic Development

The questions I am frequently asked are: 'Is everyone psychic?' and 'Can anyone develop psychic skills?' To which I always answers 'Yes'.

Everyone is psychic potentially and, even those who are not, most definitely can develop some degree of a psychic skill. It is thought that before we evolved even the most rudimentary form of speech, our primitive forebears communicated their thoughts and feelings telepathically. In fact, one notable writer once wrote in an essay on the subject, 'Humans only developed speech so that they could lie!' Whether or not the latter is true, the fact is that within the human mind lies incredible potential.

For the uninitiated, it should be made clear that a psychic skill is not a mediumistic one. The two skills are very different concepts. Contrary to popular belief not everyone possesses mediumistic tendencies. Today it appears to be quite fashionable to believe that we are all mediumistic potentially, and that we can develop it. This is far from the truth. Having an occasional paranormal experience does not mean one is a medium. The mediumistic mind is quite abnormal, and the brain of a medium abnormally organised.

In 1903, Professor Tutinsky of Moscow University became very interested in the whole concept of the paranormal experience. He wanted to know why some people had paranormal experiences and others did not. Although Tutunsky took pains to avoid the word 'psychic', his experiments on the brains of those who had super sensual experiences, as he described them, led him to conclude that their brains were capable of creating incredible energy levels, and were like dynamos generating electricity. Tutinsky's research also led him to conclude that there were in fact abnormalities in the overall anatomy of the brain of the sensitive. In fact, he and his colleagues all concluded that the pineal gland, the walnut shaped gland deep within the brain, was largely responsible for most if not all super-sensual experiences. Tutinsky wrote in his paper on the subject that, 'The pineal gland is much larger in a child than in the adult, and marginally more developed in the female than in the male.' This, he said, was the reason why children often have paranormal or super-sensual experiences, and why women are far more sensitive than men.' The scientist also said that he believed that most male sensitive possessed too much female hormones, and that those who were psychic were very often emotionally disturbed and far from psychologically sound.

The results of Tutinsky's 4 year extensive research into the paranormal experience were published and met with great opposition from his peers.

Psychic development techniques

What, if any, are the quickest and safest techniques to use for the development of psychic skills?

The most reliable and, certainly the safest technique, is meditation. However, this is the safest method and not necessarily the quickest.
Remember though, what meditation technique suits one person may not suit another. Some people are extremely patient and have perfect concentration, whilst others have great difficulty in focusing the attention for any length of time.

The most effective way of precipitating the consciousness is 'Candle scrying.'

Place a lighted candle a few feet away from you and as near to eye level as possible. Simply gaze at the flame, resisting the temptation to either move your eyes or close them.
Gaze at the flame for as long as you possibly can and, when your eyes begin to tear, close them and place the palms of your hands over them, applying a little pressure to the eye ball.
Wait for a few moments until the after-image of the flame comes into the mind's eye and endeavour to hold that image for as long as possible.
When the after-image becomes fragmented and dissolves, open your eyes, return your eyes to the flame and repeat the exercise.
The serious pupil will practise this at least twice a day, or at least until the desired results are achieved.

Eventually the after image will not fade.

Candle Scrying precipitates energy in the brow chakra and aids the cultivation of the image-making faculty. This is a prerequisite for the development of clairvoyance and will encourage overall sensitivity.

Later more psychic development exercises will be given.

(Should you have a history of psychological illness, or are of a nervous disposition, you would be advised to avoid any psychic development exercises. Billy Roberts cannot be held responsible for any misuse of the exercises given on this site.)
