In June 2003, Sony took Billy to New Orleans to film a documentary to promote Ghost Hunter, a new Playstation 2 game. Accompanied by New Orleans parapsychologist, Kalila Smith, Billy was taken to haunted venues that replicated those seen on the game. These were a spooky graveyard deep within the
Louisiana swamps, a haunted plantation house and a second World War Battleship that had been sunk in the war, with hundreds of fatalities.
Although there was a lot of paranormal activity in the swamps, Billy said that the most frightening thing was having to contend with the snakes and alligators. Picture this: whilst Billy was standing in the graveyard beneath an eerie crescent moon, trying to psychically analyse the atmosphere
through the spooky shadows of the trees, a huge owl hovered above his head, flapping its wings against the still air, before finally flying off to disappear in the darkness of the night. 'It's a good thing it didn't call my name,' remarked Billy cynically, ' as according to north American Indian tradition, this portends death.' As you can imagine, Billy was glad to vacate the swamps.
The haunted plantation house was the house featured on the label of the well known southern Comfort
liquor. This had been the place of countless mysterious deaths, and was full of much paranormal activity, particularly the ghost of a young girl, resembling the one featured on the game.
Of all three venues, the Second World War Battleship was the less active. Apart from shadowy forms and disembodied voices, caught by the camera, nothing spectacular really happened.
